Stay and Play After School Club

The fun continues after school at our ‘Stay and Play’ afternoon programmes. Children can dive into more fun activities, building lasting friendships and creating memories beyond the classroom, all before heading home for quality family time.

All children have a freshly prepared High Tea together – a real social highlight of every afternoon.

Our nearest HQ Holiday Camps are held at Balfour, Fairlight and West Hove Infants.

Meet The Stanford Club Manager

Tara

Club Manager

Hi, my name is Tara and I’m Club Manager for Stanford After School Club.

I’ve got to know the children here well and have loved seeing them grow their confidence and abilities. My favourite thing to do at club is build things with the kids – whether it be marble runs, card towers, lego buildings or blanket forts. It’s fun to see their imagination and creativity evolve.

Since joining Pioneer Childcare in 2023 as an Activity Leader, I’ve attended training for Safeguarding, Prevent and FGM. I now hold certificates for Paediatric First Aid, Allergen Awareness and Fire Marshal training.

Prior to joining Pioneer Childcare, I enjoyed using the knowledge gained from my Zoology degree to teach children about nature through volunteering with CityParks Rangers.

One of the things I love about working for Pioneer is that no two days are ever the same, and I’m always learning and developing my skills. I’m looking forward to the new challenges I’ll face as Club Manager.

Our activities

Our activities:

  • Seven fun-filled adventure categories, designed for all ages and interests.
  • Promotes fun, curiosity and mindfulness in an entertaining and welcoming environment.
  • Create lifelong friendships over exciting adventures beyond the classroom.
  • Children choose how to spend their mornings and afternoons.

“Children enjoy a variety of well-planned activities. They choose between working with friends to build with construction bricks and drawing and cutting at the craft table. Staff sit alongside children, giving them gentle encouragement and praise for trying to do things for themselves."

Tina Lambert, Ofsted Inspector
Stanford Club, February 2023

“All children benefit from the social interactions between different age groups. Children who are new to the infant school and older children in the junior school play collaboratively together. For instance, they sit and do puzzles together and invite one another to join in group games. This supports older children to take responsibility and assists younger children in their confidence and self-esteem."

Tina Lambert, Ofsted Inspector
Stanford Club, February 2023

“Staff conscientiously get to know the children that they care for. They sit alongside the children and ask them about the activities that they have been doing at school. Children and staff have strong bonds, which enables children to talk freely about things that interest them. As a result, children feel valued and listened to."
