Blackthorns - Pioneer Childcare
We provide onsite Breakfast and After School Clubs at Blackthorns Community Primary Academy.
Pioneer Club sessions are planned to cater for children of all ages and abilities with the aim of supporting each child in their development through enriching and nurturing activities. We’ll be onsite each day of the school term to take care of all your childcare needs.
Our Blackthorns Pioneer Club will make use of designated spaces within the school, including use of the school hall and access to all the wonderful outdoor areas. Our team include sports coaches, art leaders and childcare professionals
With options for booking on a regular or ad-hoc basis – we’re here, as much or as little as you need us.
We have limited places available and would encourage you to book now to secure your child’s place.

Meet The Club Manager
Paige Martin
Club Manager
Hello, my name is Paige and I am the Club Manager at Blackthorns Breakfast and After School Club.
I joined Pioneer Childcare in November 2021 as a Senior Activity Leader after working as a Teaching Assistant at a primary school. Prior to this I volunteered at an art club with children and worked with animals.
During my time at Pioneer I have received training in Allergen Awareness, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid.
My favourite activity to lead is performance because I love to help the children develop their acting skills and watch them grow in confidence!

Our activities
We offer children choice and variety across our range of indoor activities including sport, games and arts & crafts. We enjoy additional access to the playgrounds, field & outdoor areas – meaning we have plenty of room to further extend our range of exciting activities.
We are constantly monitoring and supporting the children, to ensure everyone has been well fed with a variety of options available to keep the children engaged and enjoying themselves whilst in our care.
