Halsford Park

After School Club

A typical afternoon

Our After School Club, located conveniently on the Halsford Park site, is run from the large school sports hall adjacent to the school’s main entrance as well as an additional classroom space. We offer children choice and variety across our range of indoor activities including sport, games and arts & crafts. We enjoy additional access to the playgrounds, field & outdoor areas – meaning we have plenty of room to further extend our range of exciting activities.

Each afternoon begins with staff collecting children from their classrooms (where necessary) and registering them for after school club, at the end of the day. Kids settle into club before enjoying their choice of High Tea from our healthy and nutritious options. Everyone at club then comes together for ‘daily housekeeping’, at which time our manager runs through the activities available that day. Children then choose an exciting staff-led activity to get involved with, with a variety of options available to ensure children are engaged and enjoying themselves right up until collection.

What is a walking bus?

A walking bus is a group of children walking back to club under the supervision of one or more adults – it’s as simple as that. All our walking buses follow risk-assessed routes and are led by trained staff. All children and staff wear high visibility vests.

The walking bus will operate in wet weather, unless the rain is torrential! Therefore, please try to ensure your child has clothing that is suitable for the weather that day (e.g. waterproof coat, sun hat). If the weather is terrible, the children will wait at school (supervised by our walking bus staff) with a box of games & activities until either; the weather passes and they can walk back to club as normal, or a minibus can get to them to collect them.

If my child needs medication will it be administered at Club?

Any medication must be left with the Manager and we ask you to sign a permission form to enable us to give specific medicines.

What if I want to cancel my booking?
