Burgess Hill

After School Clubs

A typical afternoon

Our After School Club at Burgess Hill runs from Burgess Hill Rugby Club. We have sole access of the setting during Club opening hours which gives us the ability to set up a separate dining area as well as a range of different activities for kids to choose from. In good weather we also make the most of the outdoor spaces available.

Each afternoon begins with our staff collecting and registering children back at Club, they then come together for ‘daily housekeeping’ (when our manager runs through the activities available that day) afterwards the children will then engage in free play before they choose what they’d like to eat from our healthy & nutritious High Tea options. After High Tea, the children choose from the many activities available & get stuck into whatever they fancy doing most until collection.

End of School – 6:30pm

Each afternoon begins with our collection staff registering children at their school, at the end of the day. After being safely transported back to Club, the kids arrive to a snack and a drink and choose from a range of activities.

After they have had a chance to settle in, the children are brought together for our daily housekeeping, where the staff confirm what’s for dinner, what activities are on offer and pass out any messages. The children then choose from the afternoon’s activities.

At dinnertime, each house takes a turn to set the tables and then sit down together for a healthy meal. Staff and children enjoy their dinner together and then clear away before continuing with the afternoon’s activities.

What is a walking bus?

A walking bus is a group of children walking back to club under the supervision of one or more adults – it’s as simple as that. All our walking buses follow risk-assessed routes and are led by trained staff. All children and staff wear high visibility vests.

Does the walking bus operate in wet weather?

The walking bus will operate in wet weather, unless the rain is torrential! Therefore, please try to ensure your child has clothing that is suitable for the weather that day (e.g. waterproof coat, sun hat). If the weather is terrible, the children will wait at school (supervised by our walking bus staff) with a box of games & activities until either; the weather passes and they can walk back to club as normal, or a minibus can get to them to collect them.

If my child needs medication will it be administered at Club?

Any medication must be left with the Manager and we ask you to sign a permission form to enable us to give specific medicines.

What if I want to cancel my booking?

Please see the Cancellation Policy in our terms and conditions for booking.
