Oak Tree Breakfast & After School Club and Holiday Camp

160, Junction Road, England, RH15 0PZ.

We operate high quality, fun-filled Breakfast and After School Clubs at Oak Tree Primary School.

Rise then Shine Breakfast Club and Stay and Play After School Club are available for pupils attending Oak Tree Primary School, Sheddingdean Primary School and Birchwood Grove Primary School.

Holiday HQ Camps run in every school holiday and all primary school aged children are welcome to attend.

Children benefit from a safe and familiar school setting, helping them settle quickly into their surroundings and chosen activity.

We have our own dedicated building at Oak Tree. We use a large sports hall and 2 classrooms.

The variety of spaces allow us to lead large or smaller group sessions, whatever the weather.

We set up a dining area in the hall, enabling the children to all eat together sociably.

The children enjoy the fantastic outdoor playground areas and field, where we’re able to operate our supervised games and activities, promoting collaboration, teamwork, and fun!

With options for booking on a regular or ad-hoc basis – we’re here, as much or as little as you need us.

We have limited places available and would encourage you to book now to secure your child’s place.

Each holiday follows a popular children’s theme, giving the organised activities a focus and ensuring every day is different!

Weather and season dependent, we’ll be outdoors as much as possible. Please bring appropriate cold and wet weather clothing, and in warmer weather please remember to put suncream and a hat on before dropping your child/ren.

They’ll need to bring a refillable water bottle, two snacks and packed lunch.
NB: No nuts or sesame seed allowed.

We’re proud to be part of the government-funded HAF programme in the Summer, Christmas and Easter School Holidays. All food and activities are provided free of charge when booked via the HAF Programme.
All children participate in the Holiday Camp activities together.

Please visit West Sussex County Council’s website for the latest eligibility criteria, dates and to book your child’s place at camp.

Meet The Oak Tree Primary Club Manager

Dom Buglass

Club Manager

Hello, my name is Dom, and I’m the Pioneer Club Manager at Oak Tree in Burgess Hill.
I’ve been at the company since April 2018 and in that time, I’ve worked in many of our fantastic settings across Sussex. My first role with the company was Assistant Activity Leader here at Manor Field, so becoming a Club Manager has been a big full circle moment for me and a massive privilege.

Whilst working at the company, I have completed a degree in Sports Science as well as a teaching degree in Physical Education.
As you can imagine, my favourite activities to run are sports and active sessions. I love seeing everyone get energetic, work as a team, and have great fun! Exercise is medicine for the mind, body and soul and there’s nothing better than seeing the smiling, happy faces of the children after a great sports session!

Since working for Pioneer I have become First Aid trained, completed several Safeguarding courses as well as Food Hygiene and Allergen training.

I’m always keen to make everyone feel safe, welcome, and comfortable at our club so if there’s anything I can help with, don’t hesitate to ask.

If you would like to discuss anything club-related, please call 01444 248427 during club opening hours, and I will be happy to talk to you.

Our activities

Our activities:

  • Seven fun-filled adventure categories, designed for all ages and interests.
  • Promotes fun, curiosity and mindfulness in an entertaining and welcoming environment.
  • Create lifelong friendships over exciting adventures beyond the classroom.
  • Children choose how to spend their mornings and afternoons.

“Children enjoy a variety of well-planned activities. They choose between working with friends to build with construction bricks and drawing and cutting at the craft table. Staff sit alongside children, giving them gentle encouragement and praise for trying to do things for themselves."

Tina Lambert, Ofsted Inspector
Stanford Club, February 2023

“All children benefit from the social interactions between different age groups. Children who are new to the infant school and older children in the junior school play collaboratively together. For instance, they sit and do puzzles together and invite one another to join in group games. This supports older children to take responsibility and assists younger children in their confidence and self-esteem."

Tina Lambert, Ofsted Inspector
Stanford Club, February 2023

“Staff conscientiously get to know the children that they care for. They sit alongside the children and ask them about the activities that they have been doing at school. Children and staff have strong bonds, which enables children to talk freely about things that interest them. As a result, children feel valued and listened to."
