Apprentice Community Sports Coach


Pioneer Childcare have been providing high quality wraparound care to schools across Sussex for over 10 years and we are looking for an Apprentice to join our Lindfield team. This permanent position is excellent opportunity for an individual looking to start a career in childcare within a thriving and supportive Company.  Our apprentices work within a highly skilled team and are supported through mentoring with a senior team member and 1:1 supervision with the line manager.  This is a role with natural progression to a higher-level qualification if desired.


  • To support the team with the smooth running of the Club
  • To support the children with their art, sport or games activities
  • To ensure a positive management of children’s behaviour
  • To help provide an interesting and stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors at all times
  • Engage with the children’s play, expanding their development and understanding
  • To help with snack and mealtimes, following all food hygiene and allergen procedures at all times
  • To support the children to and from the school and ensure they have a smooth transition
  • To understand and work to Pioneer Childcare policies and procedures, including who to deal with child protection issues, and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the Clubs aims and objectives
  • To participate in any training relevant to the role

Working hours and benefits

  • Excellent starting salary – £10,400.00

Education and Experience

  • Completion of secondary school
  • Experience with children age 4 – 11 years
