Senior Activity Leader Job Description

 Introduction:

Pioneer Childcare have been providing high quality wraparound care to schools across Sussex for over 10 years, and we are looking for a skilled Activity Leader to join our team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual looking to inspire children to engage with sports, arts, crafts, and a healthy lifestyle within a thriving and supportive childcare Company.

Responsibilities

  • To provide a safe, creative opportunities including preparing activities, organising resources and arranging equipment
  • Engage with the children to have fun, try something new and build on their skills
  • Ensure the safety of the children at all times
  • Adapt to the needs and interests of the children
  • Engage all the children to participate and work with all abilities
  • To maintain all the equipment and that any faulty equipment is reported to the manager
  • Engage with the day-to-day running of club
  • Ensure that all provision of food is carried out within the guidelines of food hygiene and food allergen requirements
  • Assist in collection of children from school to Club
  • Attend meetings necessary to your role: supervision, team meetings, training
  • Encourage children to exercise personal responsibility for their security and others, to take steps to ensure their personal safety and understand their social responsibilities (in person and online) through group discussions, informal discussions, club ground rules and behaviour expectations.
  • To ensure a provision of high-quality care that meets the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the Clubs aims and objectives

Education and Experience

  • Two years’ experience coaching with children
  • Experience in developing and progressing children in a range of activities
