Job Description Club Manager


Pioneer Childcare have been providing high quality wraparound care to schools across Sussex for over 10 years, and we are looking for an experienced teacher to join our team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual looking to continue supporting children with their learning and development without the targets within a thriving and supportive childcare Company.


  • Run the afterschool provision at the setting
  • Ensure that all staff are professional, prepared and delivering high quality care
  • Ensure that all the children settle into the club well, and know where the toilets, playground etc are, and ensure they understand the club routine and club agreements
  • Link up with your line manager for safeguarding issues and linking up with stakeholders when needed
  • Managing first aid and the dispensing of medicine when needed
  • Keeping accurate records of all accidents and incidents
  • Use our Pioneer Booking system to maintain a daily accurate register
  • Completing reporting issues related to safeguarding, accidents ensuring accuracy and detail
  • To provide a high tea to the children
  • Adhere to Ofsted regulations and guidelines
  • Adhere to Environmental Health regulations and guidelines
  • Adhere to all Pioneer Childcare procedures and policies
  • Ensure all staff follow current Pioneer Childcare policies and procedures
  • Develop a secure and trusting relationship with all the children by listening to and observing their needs
  • Responsibility for all children’s medication, the administering of and checking use by dates
  • To monitor a children’s progress and interests to ensure that the care they receive, and play opportunities provided, are tailored to meet their individual needs
  • Holding weekly supervision meetings with the staff, hold appraisals, return to work interviews, disciplinaries when needed

Education and Experience

  • Three years’ experience working with primary ages children and their families
  • Evidence of safeguarding, first aid and prevent training and knowledge
